Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Here's a LO I did a while back. Photos were taken during Nadya's 2nd haircut ever just before classes started last June.

Boy did she love being pampered at the salon !

I'm a Design Monkey!

I just got accepted into the Little Monkeys Design Team!

For now, they only carry one product, which I definitely can use around here... the Store More Stamps System! They even have plans to include stamps in their future product line. This is what's exciting about working with a small company, you get to be part of their growth!

So what do they need a DT for if they only carry storage systems? The DT is going to work on "altering" the storage system to make it not just practical and functional, but turn them into fab works of art! Cool huh? Can't wait to start on mine!

Dance Like No One Is Watching

Did this LO last week for Lasting Impression. It's a mix of several paper brands -- I just went through my stash to see which ones had a hint of lavender in them to match Bianca's ballet outfit.

Then I hit upon the idea of making a pair of baby ballet shoes -- except that there wasn't an exact template available on the net. After almost a day of searching for a ballet shoe template, I decided to modify the Mary Jane template that was available to suit my needs. I think they are the most adorable things ever.

Scrap'n Supply Shack DT

I just joined the brand new design team of Scrap'n Supply Shack -- a new kit club that tries to help you take the guesswork out of choosing your scrapbooking supplies. I'm looking forward to working with my awesome co-DT members!

The announcement may be viewed here. I can hardly wait to get the October kit and start playing!

Card-Making Sunday

I am not much of a card-maker, given that I have too many photos to scrap. But after a very tiring week, I couldn't get the mojo to do a LO, so I decided to make some cards. Of course, I wasn't born with the gift for card-making so I had to surf the web for inspiration before my own powers kicked-in!

I played around with my stamps from Absolument Scrap and got to use some of my paper scraps -- yehey!

Adorable

In honor of Bianca's birthday the other day, here's a LO I made of her taken on her 1st day of ballet school.

Title: Adorable from Head to Toes

Journaling: June 21, 2008; Bianca's 1st day of ballet school. She thought she had a recital already and wanted to wear make-up!

Materials: Bazzill cardstock, Teresa Collins papers, Lil Davis and Heidi swapp chipboard, Stickles glitter glue, Ranger Distress Crackle Paint and Distress Ink, Zig pen, Dymo Labeler

Even in Nadya's hand-me-down ballet clothes and shoes, she looks adorable. She loves ballet, for the most part, but finds the warm-up barre exercises a bit of a bore. She can't wait for center time when they get to fly like birds and gallop like horses! Like Nadya, she can't wait for her recital when she gets to wear make-up!

Superwoman

...received this award from Wati... Thanks girl! I really needed this, like, right now.

This week has been incredibly busy, tiring...draining.

The term "burn-out" had been erased from my vocabulary since I stopped working 6 years ago, but this week it was the only word that can describe how I felt -- running from one child-related errand to another, and no time to scrap! This, I think, is what really got to me. When I'm so busy that I can't find the time, energy or inclination to scrap -- alarm bells start to ring. I didn't realize how much I've relied on scrapping to de-stress -- it's my "me" time.

Luis' exams finally end today -- and we both survived without him hating me, for making him do all those reviewers. Straight after school, we're going bowling with the Hot OC Moms (as in, obsessive-compulsive) and their kids to celebrate. I'm not really into bowling, I'm only there for the food and chit-chat!

Bianca had her school party yesterday, but we still have another party at home this week-end. And guess who's hosting the party games? Who else, but me. I still need to research on games, etc but I will leave that for tomorrow. I only had time to start party preps on Sunday when I made the invites. then had to rush early this week to get lootbags and prizes, etc. I was so tired that I didn't wake up early to make her cake yesterday morning. I woke up at 5:30am and rushed it to finish by 6:15, before she woke up and I had to take Luis and Nadya to school.

Back to scrap-related things -- Cookie made it to the Chatterbox International DT!!! Woohoo! She really rocked the Eclectic papers with her LO and deserves this. She works so hard and is such a fast scrapper. So proud to have a Filipina in the team.

Okay now for the rules of this Superwoman Award:
(1) The winner can put the logo on their blog.
(2) Link the person you received your award from.
(3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
(4) Put links of those on yours.
(5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

I nominate the following girls who are such fast scrappers and are so keen on joining challenges everywhere. I don't know how they do it, I only wish I was as prolific.
Cabbie, Cookie, Issa, Donna, Timi, CV and Ytet.

Happy Birthday Bianca!

Bianca turned 3 today.

All my kids know what kind of party they want by the age of 3 and they choose their own theme. Bianca couldn't decide between a Jasmine or Strawberry Shortcake party so she's getting both -- Jasmine today at school and Strawberry Shortcake on Saturday for a small party at home.

Here are the pics I used for her invite -- isn't she just the cutest??? Nadya coached her on posing for the Jasmine pic (obviously)!

On another note, the Chatterbox Blog says that they've sent out all the emails to the International DT, and since I didn't get one, I guess that's the end of the line for me. But that's ok 'cos I'm really happy with the stuff I made for them. I wonder when I can post them? Congrats to the new Chatterbox International DT -- hope Pia or Cookie got in!
