Echo Park Class

Pia Lopez and I will be having another joint class featuring 2 Echo Park Collections...Country Drive and Summer Days, to be held at Lasting Impression!

Tentative date for the class is Saturday, August 20 (we're just waiting for the kits to arrive).

This will be a whole day affair and we will create at least 6 LOs.

Class fee of Ps1700 includes Summer Days Collection kit, Country Drive Collection kit and Country Drive chipboard sheet.

Please send an SMS to 0918-9146012 or email us (ria_mojica@yahoo.com) with your name and cellphone number to reserve your slot. Few slots remaining.

Please note that because kits are limited, we will require pre-payment (as soon as the date is confirmed), or your slot will be given to the next one on the list.

Hope to see you there!

CCG 201

Color Combos Galore continues its ice cream theme with another yummy color combo and an interesting challenge to boot!

Title: Crafty
Journaling: The girls love to do crafts like playing with air-dry clay. May 2011
Materials: Patterned papers, Foam alpha, Journal sticker, metal embellishment, pen - American Crafts; Paint - Making Memories; Burlap Button - Nikki Sivils;  Punches - Martha Stewart; Ink - Clearsnap; Embossing Powder - Ranger; Blue Button, fabric - misc;

Aside from the color combo, this week's challenge included a recipe that needed fabric. I was already late to begin with and the only fabric I had was a light denim-colored one so I quickly cut a strip, pleated it and stapled to form a flower. Then took my trusty paint and paintbrush to color it pink. I sprinkled a bit of holographic embossing powder before the paint dried up, then used a button for the center.
I hope you can join us for this week's challenge!

Pebbles Friendship Theme

This week, Pebbles Inc is focusing on the theme of Friendship and what better friendship to celebrate than my relationship with my scrapbooking friends?

Title: Home
Pebbles supplies used: Floral Lane Warm Thoughts (751117); Floral Lane Sweet Thoughts (751120); Floral Lane With Delight (751124); Floral Lane Phrase Stickers (732054); Peacock Glitter Candy Dots (744229); Other supplies used: Cardstock (American Crafts); Mist (Tattered Angels); Pen (American Crafts); Punches (EK Success)
Journaling: This is why I can't ever stop scrapbooking. I would never have met these wonderful group of women, had it not been for this hobby.  In this group, we are all equals.  There are no stars or masters...just women who love to scrap, eat, chat... and yes, have their pictures taken...not necessarily in that order. Sonya's Garden, 06-2011 (forgive the wrong grammar..."these" should have been "this" :))

I used the gorgeous Floral Lane collection for this LO and absolutely love how the glitter candy dots add a simple touch of elegance! We missed these 3 girls when we had these pics taken -- Joanne Yap who is in Australia, Mia Castrillo who lives in CDO and Liza Bermudez who was in her last month of pregnancy at the time.

We all rode in one big van and there was non-stop talking going to Sonya's Garden and back. My voice was hoarse by the time we got back in the early evening and I was sick for the next 2 weeks...haha! But it was all worth it!

Pencil Lines Sketch 246

Here's my LO for Pencil Lines Sketch 246.

Title: Filipina
Journaling: Bianca & Nadya wear their Filipino costume every August for Buwan ng Wika. Aug 2010
Materials: Cardstock - American rafts; Patterned papers - Cosmo Cricket; Flowers - Prima; Mist - Tattered Angels; Chipboard sticker - Crate Paper; Chipboard - Maya Road; Embossing Powder - Ranger; Ink - Clearsnap; Pen - American Crafts; Punches - Martha Stewart; EK Succes

August is Buwan ng Wika (Filipino Language Month) and every year, the kids have to dress up in native costumes. I think it is the cutest thing, and sometimes wish adults were required to wear our native costumes at least once a year, too!

Hope you can join us for this week's sketch!

Color Combos Galore 200

Wow! Can't believe this is CCG's 200th combo and just had to squeeze this into my busy week. I loved this week's simple but happy combo. The LO I made is very simple with an easy-to-do accordion flower. I think this kind of flower helps to reinforce the "going around" theme of a carousel, kind of like an umbrella that you want to twirl.

Title: Carousel
Materials: Cardstock, patterned papers, chipboard letters, pen, die-cut tag - American Crafts; Chipboard border - Dusty Attic; Paint - Making Memories; Mist - Sarah Hurley; Embossing Powder - Tim Holtz; Twine - The Twinery; Punches - EK Success; misc - buttons
Journaling: Mall of America, June 2010

To make your own accordion flower:

1. Cut a strip about 3/4" x 12".
2. Hold the strip crosswise and score at every 1/4".
3. Fold alternately at the score lines. Glue the 2 ends together to form a ring.
4. Flatten towards the center and adhere to a 1/2" adhesive-covered circle.
5. Decorate with a button or other flower center.

And to celebrate this milestone, we are holding our 1st Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Color Combos Galore 200th "Anniversary" Blog Hop! We hope by visiting the CCG Design Team members' blogs, you will be able to pick up some fun tips and techniques. Many of the team members will be offering prizes, so you will want to visit all of the blogs to increase your chances of winning some fun scrappy stuff. We are also offering a chance at a Guest Designer spot for the month of August if you visit all of the blogs in our Blog Hop and participate in Challenge 200 by uploading your project to the CCG Gallery. It's so fun to get the colors before everyone else! Plus, who doesn't love to see their name in lights! The deadline for the chance to win these prizes is one week from today, Sunday, July 24, EST.

If this is your first stop at our Blog Hop, you'll want to start at Bente's blog, and follow the hop in order so you don't miss anyone. If you've been hopping in order, your next stop is Tomomi Nomura's blog.

Once you have visited all the blogs and uploaded a project to the CCG Gallery using Challenge 200, please make sure you check in at the Blog Hop discussion in the Special Announcements Forum at CCG. We will choose our August Guest Designer from that thread. Individual DT members will be choosing winners for the prizes they are offering. Good luck, and we hope you'll enjoy our blog hop!
If you get lost or find a non-active link, here's the complete list of blogs to visit...

Sarah Hurley Challenge 45

This week we have a sponsor for our Challenge -- Robyn's Fetish offers and adorable line of digital stamps and more!

Our challenge this week was coloring and had to choose a digital stamp to use. Now, I've had my Copics for a while (like a few years) but have never really colored anything with them so here;s my first attempt...needs a lot of help, I know but I was in a rush and didn't even have time to search  for a how-to video...but I love the effect of Sarah Hurley's Ink-A-Ball paint especially with the holographic embossing powder on it!

Hope you can join us for this week's challenge for a chance to win some goodies from Robyn's Fetish!
