Scrap-scene Write-up

We're on Scrapscene! Check out this post on Scrapscene about scrapbooking in the Philippines.

Much has happened since Joanne sent in the info found in the article -- like we now have our own Memory Makers Master (Iris Uy) -- and they missed including Maria Grace Abuzman in their list of Filipina scrapbookers in the US, but by and large, it is a heart-warming and well-written article.
Thank you so much Scrapscene!

Thanksgiving 2007 Menu

I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner again tomorrow and here's our menu:

THANKSGIVING 2007
MENU

Soup
Cream of Pumpkin c/o Mom

Salad
Oriental Salad

Main Course
The World’s Best Turkey
with
Bread and Celery Stuffing
And Gravy

Ribs in Barbecue Sauce

Baked Prawns c/o Mom

Pasta c/o Dinah

Side Dishes
Hash Brown Casserole II
Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole
Cranberry Jelly c/o Ocean Spray

Dessert
Apple Pecan Cobbler
Napoleones c/o Mom
Panna Cotta with Strawberry Sauce
Vanilla Ice Cream

I totally have to starve myself today and tomorrow so I can stuff myself tomorrow night! I made sure there are a lot of other entrees so I'll have left-over turkey for the next few days -- yummy!

One positive effect of the strong Peso is that the price of a turkey has dropped by around 20% from last year. Got a 7+kg frozen turkey 2 days ago which is currently thawing in the fridge, bathing in sparkling grape juice. I probably should change its bath water today, maybe to 7-up? Let's hope all goes well with my turkey tomorrow. No plans of brining and injecting my bird this year -- did that last year and wasn't so hot about it.

I was tagged by Marj the other day...thanks girl!

Bad Girls Christmas Workshop

I am so very privileged to have been asked to design a class for the Bad Girls Kits Christmas Workshop.

The whole week-end of Nov. 16-18 is going to be dedicated to making projects that you can give as gifts this Christmas, mostly using supplies that you already have on hand. How cool is that?

I can't tell you anything about my class but you can check out the Bad Girls site (you need to register if you haven't yet) for Sneaky Peeks and Supply Lists. There are 12 different workshops in all so you're sure to learn something new from all the fabulous designers!
Grab the blinkie and use it in your signature when you post on the net or post it in your blog and you might just win a RAK from Bad Girls Kits.

Baby No More

My baby's 1st Day of School today. Bianca joined the Toddler class in the same nursery school that Luis & Nadya went to.

I always thought she was more shy than the other 2 so I feared she might cling to me and not want to be left alone (or was that wishful thinking?).

But she went straight into the classroom, sat herself down in front of the easel and started painting. When I said I was leaving, she lifted her hand to wave and said "Bye Mommy" without even looking at me. Sigh...

Here I was half-hoping she would cling to me (and I freed up my whole morning expecting to be spending it at school). But I'm glad she was ok. The teachers at the school always marvel at how my kids are all so self-confident at such an early age. I don't know how we did it but I hope that means we're not such bad parents after all.

Long Week-End Pics

Spent the long week-end in my mom's house in Batangas. Took lots of pics of the kids in the garden -- here are some pics of Nadya who was in the best posing mood ever.
